A day later, I was looking up an actress who had the pilot in her list of credits and decided to click on it.Out of curiosity, I went to the boards to see what others were saying.Just like you guys, they didn't like it.But, to my surprise, those were only a few people.The majority of them actually liked it. I decided to look for a few reviews around the net, just to see if those positive opinions were shared by others.Again, to my surprise, they were.The majority of the sites I visited really enjoyed the pilot.Some even cited it as the best pilot of the season.Some felt it should have been picked up along with Grimm or instead of Grimm. So, I'm going to have to track this thing down and see how I feel about it.I'm wondering what the disconnect is between your crew and some of the audience.Maybe it's not really a bad pilot, it's just not your thing.I've kinda noticed that with several other TV shows you've reviewed.Who knows? Anyway, I'll check it out and let you know what I think. Otherworld was one of my favorites (have all 8 eps on VHS--not that I have any VCRs hooked up--and still think "Nuveen Kroll!" whenever I see Mike on Breaking Bad!) Also enjoyed Automan, Misfits of Science, and My Secret Identity, just to name a few. While not strictly sci-fi but more like the original Chuck, I really wish "The New Adventures of Beans Baxter" (one of FOX's first shows) was on DVD. There are so many awesome 80s sci-fi shows I wish were on DVD. "Runaway" really destroyed my patience with the plot holes in this show. Why on earth does Jim, the dad, after going through so much to be with his family, risk his life to such a degree for some random little girl? Why does Mira, the leader of the sixers, remain so cryptic in her reasons for opposing Terra Nova? I like the world and the action but I can't watch a show where I have to detach my brain and not think anything into the plot.
