As part of the BBC’s annual fundraiser, Children in Need, they showed the first few minutes from the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special, “The End of Time.” The episode airs in the UK on December 25th and the next evening in the U.S. on BBC America!

SyFy Returns to Riverworld

The first Riverworld pilot was such a success, that SyFy has gone back to the well for another take on Philip José Farmer’s classic series of fantasy novels. With the popularity of Lost, it seems pretty obvious that a show featuring modern people stuck in a mysterious afterlife could be a hit for the network — especially since both Helo and Gaeta from Battlestar Galactica are in it.

Watch HBO’s Pilot for Bored to Death Early (& Free!)

HBO has put the pilot up on amazon.com’s video on demand section of the site for free. The show debuts this Sunday at 9:30pm. Bored to Death follows Jason Schwartzman as a novelist who gets bored and decides to become an unlicensed private investigator by advertising himself on craigslist. Zach Galifianakis and Ted Danson co-star as his friends.

9 Minute Preview of AMC’s The Prisoner Remake

Let me be upfront. I’m a big fan of The Prisoner. I think it’s great. Sure the ending is weird and open to interpretation, but the early episodes are brilliant and showcase much more of what McGoohan was interested in.

That being said, I’m not at all against a remake that gives us a story plotted out from beginning to end and AMC sure hired a good cast and crew. Their shows Breaking Bad and Mad Men are some of the best on cable these days. So I’m hopeful.
