TVZ is a Parsec Award Finalist

Just a quick note – Television Zombies was nominated and selected as a finalist for the annual Parsec Awards. Out of 38 shows that were nominees, TVZ is one of the five finalists.

There’s an independent panel of judges that will vote on the winner which will be announced at Dragon*Con (September 3-6) in Atlanta. Pretty cool.

Why call it season 1.5? It isn’t airing until January, one full year from when the show started. That says “season two” to me, but what do I know? I still really like this show. I hope it doesn’t lose any momentum.

Well the creator, Paul “OtaKing” Johnson has created more footage! He sure makes some cool-looking Daleks and Cybermen.

MTV interviews creator Robert Kirkman on the set of AMC’s upcoming adaptation of “The Walking Dead!”

Oh, well if you’re still here, here’s some more news about the show. A list of the directors and writers of all 6 episodes, beginning this October on AMC:

1) Writer/Director is Frank Darabont.

2) Writer is Darabont. Director is Michelle MacLaren (Breaking Bad).

3) Writer is Darabont and Chic Eglee (The Shield, Dexter) and Jack LoGuidice (Sons of Anarchy). Director is Gwyneth Horder-Payton (The Shield, Battlestar Galactica).

4) Writer is Robert Kirkman! Director is Johan Renck (Breaking Bad).

5) Writer is Glen Mazzara (The Shield). Director is Ernest Dickerson (The Wire, Dexter).

6) Writer is Adam Fierro (Dexter, 24). Director is Guy Ferland (Sons of Anarchy).

Pretty exciting team!

Zombie, Emma Bell as Amy, Jon Bernthal as Shane, Steven Yuen as Glenn, Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori Grimes, Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes, Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Jeffrey DeMunn as Dale, and Laurie Holden as Andrea.

Quick trivia. See Carl Grimes’ shirt? That’s the logo for Science Dog, another comic book by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and frequent artistic collaborator Cory Walker!

One fan did what I consider a brilliant job on this. Writing jokes in the style of Douglas Adams is no easy feat but in my opinion, he nailed it. Also, it retains the visual charm of the BBC tv version along with a shockingly good Peter Jones impression as the Book:

Douglas Adams and Doctor Who have a long history together. Adams was a script editor for a year of the Tom Baker series and wrote three stories – The Pirate Planet, City of Death, and Shada (which was canceled due to a worker’s strike). In series three of the new Doctor Who show, there was even an episode titled ’42′ which writer Chris Chibnall said was a reference to the Hitchhiker’s series in which 42 is a key plot point.

Blue Beetle: The TV Show? (Pics!)

We’ll discuss this in the news for episode 131 but DC’s Chief Creative Director Geoff Johns tweeted that he’d seen footage of a Blue Beetle transformation sequence – test footage for a live action tv show. Johns talks about it here on the Source and shared screencaps of the transformation. If you’re a fan of Jaime Reyes, this looks like it has potential. More details are expected to turn up at this summer’s San Diego ComiCon.
