The Rains of Castamere is a ballad within the Game of Thrones books. It’s a song about Tywin Lannister and his crushing victory over the rebelling House Reyne of Castamere and the destruction of that House. It has now been recorded by indie rock band The National for the show’s season 2 album. If we’re really lucky, maybe they’ll actually use this version within the show somewhere around season 4 (you either know what I’m talking about or if you look it up, you’ll get spoiled, FYI).
