Last week Fringe got 5 million viewers. Survivor got 12.7m, CSI 15.1m, The Mentalist 15.4m. Sad day.

Thanks for the numbers, Linnjacob. I think Fox should consider moving Fringe to Tuesday. Or any other day. It’s just not competing. But as long as Fox doesn’t cancel it and I get to see it, I’ll be happy.

i know people love rescue me. its not for me. i didn’t like the sopranos either. maybe coming from a working class background, i don’t like shows about working class people in general. it is just me. i know people love that show.

I enjoyed listening to Fozzie on the podcast, and I agree with his opinion on The Vampire Diaries. VD is great! (Apart from the itching and burning).
Seriously, Vampire Diaries is one the better new shows this season. I’m really enjoying it. It took an episode or two for the show to find its footing, but you should give it a chance. The writing is smart, the characters are well drawn, the acting is decent, and the show is developing a satisfying mythology and season-long story arc. Think of the misconceptions you had about Supernatural before you started to watch it: that it was just a CW (then WB) show about two beefcake guys, probably something along the lines of Charmed. I think if you give Vampire Diaries a chance you’ll see the show suffers from a similar misconception. In my opinion the show has two big strikes against it: the network that it is on (since that predisposes people to think it’s going to be Melrosy fluff), and its title. Both lead you to expect cheese. But it is actually a decent show. I’ve been very impressed with it thus far and I think Fozzie’s description was right on point.

You know, several listeners have told us to give Vampire Diaries a chance so we will. Not quite sure when, but we will all discuss the show sometime in the near future. Meanwhile, Fozzie did a commentary defending it that will appear on the next episode, 105.
