Welcome to the second of a regular feature here on TVZ, where we will interview one another. Hosts, bloggers, commenters, editors – we’ll all be interviewed in turn, to give you a small look at the crew behind Television Zombies.
1. I know you spend a good deal of time watching things on the internet. Aside from porn, what’s your favorite show on the internet and why?
I don’t really watch a lot of shows that were intentionally made for the internet on the internet, but I do watch some shows intended for regular broadcast television on the internet because it’s just easier. Hulu.com is the only place I watch SNL anymore. They cut out all the shit and the good stuff has a way of finding it’s way to the top there. It really saves me a lot of time. I’ve also been watching “Party Down” on their official website because they are hosting full length episodes and I don’t have STARZ. That show is pretty awesome. I like watching anything that has former cast members of “The State”, and Ken Marino delivers on that show. Back in the day I used to watch a lot of shows on Channel101.com, but I can’t remember the last time I was actually there. I think I’m more prone to watching random shit on youtube or other similar sites. I waste so much goddamn time on the internet.
2. I also know you have two rugrats. What are their favorite shows to watch, and do you try to steer them towards/away from any particular television? Are there any shows they’re too young for right now, but you can’t wait to expose them to?
I’ve got two little girls, 2 and 4. We try to limit their tv time, but they do get their fair share. Seasame Street is a pretty effing awesome show, if you ask me. I’m glad it’s still around. It’s educational and entertaining, even to me. Well, not educational to me. I know how to count. Asshole.
They also really dig Scooby Doo, and I’m totally fine with that. It’s crazy that show is still around. Otherwise, they watch mostly animated movies if they’re in front of the tv. The Incredibles is my little one’s favorite movie, which I’m quite proud of considering it’s in my top three favorite movies of all time. My older one really likes Bolt and Open Season, or the old school Disney classics.
I really want to get Pee Wee’s playhouse on dvd. I had the vhs collection, but we don’t even have a VCR anymore. Say what you will about Paul Reubens, but I think the man is brilliant and that show was brilliant. I credit Pee Wee Herman and Looney Tunes with creating the Matty you know today. Pee Wee’s playhouse was such an imaginative and fun show, I really hope they love it as much as I did.
3. If you could make a television show that starred the podcasters (main and special guests), what would it be? Y’know… aside from porn.
Hrm. I think it would involve vampires and banging. I would call it Banging Vampires.
Tina would play the beautiful introverted high school girl whose parents got divorced because she’s too beautiful and introverted. Her mom hooks up with that Greek guy from the Verizon kiosk that’s always asking sexy questions like “Are you happy with your current phone carrier?”, so she goes to live with her dad. He’s a charming mustachio’d security guard. When she rolls up on her dad’s phat pad, he reintroduces her to a childhood friend who has now grown up to be a sexy maybe-swampman. I mean, you don’t know he’s a maybe-swampman…but you have a feeling. He’s played by Jeff.
So Tina’s character goes to high school and meets a mysterious, sexy yet withdrawn, stylish and pale young man with perfect hair, played by none other than Chuck (duh…he has amazing hair). She finds out that he’s the adopted son of Chris’ character, the school nurse.
But get this….it turns out that Chuck’s character is actually a VAMPIRE! Holy jizz! And he’s got radical vampire powers! Like being sparkley and driving hatchbacks!
Anyhoo, that’s all exposition that’s covered in the first five minutes of the series. The whole rest of the series is everyone banging.
I’m chock full of original ideas that would make great tv shows.

Matty’s turn of phrase is porn for the language centers of my brain. Plus, the man can dance in a fat-suit.
