Welcome to the first of a regular feature here on TVZ, where we will interview one another. Hosts, bloggers, commenters, editors – we’ll all be interviewed in turn, to give you a small look at the crew behind Television Zombies.

———-

1. What can you tell us about your background in terms of work and education, and does it relate to the skills you use to podcast?

Let’s see. Aside from the copious amounts of retail, most of my career has been spent in the “creative” field. Same goes for my education. I have a degree in Western Art and Literature. I know… that’s pretty broad. My favorite professor Bob Haft taught me possibly the most valuable thing I could learn when analyzing and critiquing art: You don’t need a reason to like something, but you do need one if you don’t. A lot of judging comes from bias and one should always be aware of that. I try to bring that philosophy to all art, including television, and I think (and hope) that brings a fresh voice to the crowd.

I also have a degree in being sexy smooth.

2. What, aside from watching the shows and taking notes, do you like to do to prepare for the podcast?

I like to read out the prepared news and notes. I do this vigorously sometimes, because I hate sounding like I’m a fifth grader being forced to read out loud in front of the class.

I also like to watch random videos, play music, and dance.

3. Where is tv headed in the near future, in your opinion?

The internet is the future. I think television providers are going about things all wrong (charging ridiculous amounts of money for hundreds of channels you don’t want), which is why you have people watching more and more tv on the internet and picking up much more disc based sets. Why spend 100 bucks a month on television and why be constrained to watching a show within its allotted time slot, when you can just pick up a few dvd sets or turn on your computer and watch them at your own leisure?
