Hey, did you guys know that Pam was still in The Office? Me neither. But apparently she starts off this episode. Don’t worry though. We don’t see her again for the rest of it. Apparently, Michael got her a job at corporate to support her learning time in New York. The beginning of the end?
Michael and Holly seem to be enjoying dating each other. Michael starts out the day asking her out again, and she eagerly agrees. Man, they’re so dorky and perfect for each other.
Andy and Angela set a date. Dwight is crushed and Phyllis tries to comfort him, while he carves a wooden knife with a metal knife. He’s reluctant to accept her help, but eventually caves and asks why Angela is marrying Andy. It’s pretty simple. Angela’s not a risk taker and Andy is not a risk. Hmm. Last time I checked, having premarital sex with someone that’s not your fiancee is a pretty big risk. Seems to me like Angela’s just a bitch. I’m sorry. I apologize for my outburst. She just angers me… because she’s a hypocritical hooker.

Michael is pretty eager about his date with Holly tonight and pontificates whether they will have sex. Then, he goes so far to actually ask Holly, straight up. You expect her to be super embarrassed, but surprisingly, she’s responds with a whispered “Hell yeah!” Ironically this throws Michael down a well of uncomfortable anticipation. It throws him off, probably because Jan was also a freak in bed, and he doesn’t want another relationship that was anywhere near the same. He tries to put it off as much as possible, making them play cards in the conference room well after the office is closed. They finally start to leave with holding hands and Holly forgets her keys inside. So, they go back and Michael goes to get the elevator. Holly busts out her keys that were always with her and locks the front door, and the cameras out. She then drags Michael into the stairwell and starts to make out with him (and presumably bump uglies).
Back from the commercial, we see that the office has been ransacked by robbers. It’s possibly due to Michael and Holly not locking up after they did their business. Everyone is pretty peeved, but no one knows how it could have happened. So, they’re practically out of the clear. It doesn’t stop Michael from forming another stupid activity in which the office holds an auction to generate money and recoup losses. The auction is for anything that people can come up with. Hugs, singing services, whatever.
Meanwhile, Jim gets a not-so-brief voicemail from Pam. She was out till 8am with her friends. At least one of them an obvious dude. It’s really strange, and seems like Pam is acting like she’s in her early 20s. Maybe because she never got to go through that with Roy.
Dwight is still trying to figure out a way to get Angela back for good, and he pulls Phyllis aside for advice. She gives him a pretty good idea to give Angela an ultimatum – either Dwight or Andy. He takes it and uses it immediately. By 6:14pm, she must make a choice. Or lose this:

FOREVER.
Michael has apparently gotten a hold of two front row seats to a Bruce Springsteen concert, and uses them to entice people to the auction. It finally starts and the first thing up is Yoga lessons with Holly. Michael stupidly starts the bid from $300. No one bites so he bumps it up a couple hundred and eventually buys them himself for $300. The mind boggles.
One of the next things auctioned off is from Darryl. If you win, you get to leave the auction right now and have drinks with him and his crew down at the pub. Darryl sells it to Jim for 5 bucks and they head out. At the bar, Jim is having a great time with the guys, when Roy shows up!
Then there’s a bunch of other crap auction off when 6:14pm rolls along. Dwight turns around and looks toward Angela. What’s your choice? To which she turns her head away, and Dwight sees Andy in her line of sight.

David Wallace from Corporate shows up to auction off a weekend at his place in Martha’s Vineyard and people are pretty stoked about it.
Dwight pulls Phyllis aside one last time. He’s annoyed that her advice didn’t win Angela back, but he’s ready for the next step. Phyllis reminds him that the next step is not winning her back at all. He has to come to terms with Angela’s choice, and move on. She doesn’t want to be with him, but everyone deserves to be with someone that wants to be with them. In a spat of denial, Dwight blames her for wanting to secure her place as Party Planner.
Jim updates Roy about everything with Pam. Everything. Jim tells him how she was out with her friends till 8am. Roy responds with, “Wow. I thought you were her friend.” Ouch. Next thing we see is Jim driving to see Pam.

The auction is getting old, and people want the Bruce Spingsteen tickets. Like usual, Michael lied about the tickets and said he lost them. People don’t care (or they half suspected in the first place), and Bob Vance from Vance Refrigeration says that he wants to bid on his wife’s hug. Then things get kind of crazy as people start bidding hundreds of dollars for a hug with Phyllis. Michael is baffled. Andy bids on it, because he just wants a hug and Angela still won’t show him real affection. Then Dwight returns and he starts bidding the last bid “AND ONE PENNY!” Turns out Dwight is pretty thankful for Phyllis’ help. But not that thankful, when Bob bids a thousand dollars.
We’re back at jealous Jim driving to Pam. He comes to an intersection and takes a U-Turn and a sigh of relief. He refuses to be that guy – the guy Roy was – simply because they aren’t that couple. And shame on you all for expecting them to be so cliche.

Ending the episode, Michael confesses to Holly about the Spingsteen tickets, but she doesn’t care as she thought it was too good to be true. They kiss and then we get a glimpse of David, their boss, taking a great interest in it. He didn’t know they were together and this is not a good sign. Michael and Holly’s relationship has their first major problem – conflict of interest.
This episode was super funny and I’m loving that the writers are giving their all. It doesn’t seem like they’re running out of ideas and things can only get more interesting. However, this one didn’t have the emotional punch that the last one had. That said, 4 out of 5 Dwigt Foreheads.
