They built Samhain up to be this massive threat, that I don't think was fully realized once he was raised. The previews mislead me a bit, by showing all those monsters the Winchester brothers have fought before. I thought Samhain would have about half a dozen of them as his army but that was just not the way things went. I really dug this episode.
