Television Zombies made the finalist list for the Parsec Awards in the category of Best Speculative Fiction News Podcast. The awards are decided by a panel of celebrity judges and given out at the Dragon*Con in Atlanta on Saturday, August 30th during an evening awards ceremony.
The TVZ crew is proud to be nominated in our first year of podcasting for such an award. As the official site describes it:
Mur Lafferty, Michael R. Mennenga & Tracy Hickman founded The Parsec Awards in 2006 to celebrate Speculative Fiction Podcasting, under the banner of Farpoint Media.
Podcast shows are nominated by fans, and finalists are chosen by a yearly steering committee. Those finalists are then voted on by an independent panel of judges from outside of podcasting. Awards are given in several categories ranging from content to audio quality.
This was a nice way to cap our first year of podcasting. If you attend Dragon*Con this year, we can always use a cheering section. Finally, thank you to our anonymous listener who nominated us in the first place. It’s our loyal listeners that make the show so much fun for us every week.

Congrats guys. That’s very cool.
